    In Native-American lore, the sunflower represents my dad (deceased since '83), so thank you for that nice hello from him!

    Hippigirl, you asked about the meaning of 'snake' as native-american medicine.. here's some of it;
    It represents Rebirth, Resurrection, Initiation, & Wisdom.
    It's a prominent symbol in art & lore. To Indians, it meant healing & transformation (as when the snake sheds its skin). Even Medical Drs cadeusus bears 2 snakes intertwined (as in Moses day), which represent healing arts.
    Also symbolizes the sexual/creative life force in humans. (kundlini spirit rising up the spine)
    Chinese astrology calls the snake 'compassionate, clairvoyant, & charming'
    The snake is a guardian of sacred spaces. When a snake comes into your life, you can look for a rebirth into new powers of creativity & wisdom.
    Does that help?
